Nope this isn’t a tell you what to do parenting post just my ideas that I practice.
- I don’t co-sleep not because I see anything wrong with it but because Shia hates not having an entire area to himself when he sleeps.
- I don’t breast feed, because my body refused to produce milk after 3 weeks.
- I do use the CIO, without it Shia would never nap or sleep.
- I have had Shia on a schedule since he was 10 days old. (Thanks to that he has been sleeping through the night since he was 7 weeks old)
- I do use disposable diapers.
- I make Shia’s baby food because I have the time and am a paranoid ninny.
- I tell Shia no, when it is needed.
- I don’t and won’t ever physically discipline him.
- I do redirect but more the half of the time he goes right back to the no no spot.
- I introduced Shia to the sippy at 6 months.
- I let him self feed every night.
- I say I love you as much as possible :)
I don’t think my parenting is the best way and I am sure there is room for improvement but this is a learning experience. Sadly he didn’t pop out with a instruction manual taped to his back. My son is thriving and I get compliments everywhere we go about his behavior and his doctor always jokes that I should write a book. I must be doing something right. Parents if you’re baby is happy and healthy you must be doing something right :)
